E-Complish Announces It Has Not Been Affected by Heartbleed Bug

KEEPING CUSTOMERS SECURE WITH UP-TO-DATE SSL CERTIFICATIONS

Baltimore, Maryland – February 24th, 2014: After the Heartbleed Bug’s catastrophic intrusion onto millions of user accounts, E-Complish has announced that the Heartbleed Bug has not affected their payment security or the accounts of their customers.

Announced earlier this month, the Heartbleed Bug affects the open-source OpenSSL cryptography library, which is essential in the Internet’s Transport Layer Security (TLS) protocol. A missing bounds check in the TLS caused the vulnerability, allowing payment information to be intercepted even on trusted websites such as OkCupid, Mojang, and Tumblr. The Heartbleed Bug has been described by Forbes as “the worst vulnerability found since commercial traffic began to flow on the Internet.”

“The Heartbleed Bug has been a major concern for us,” said Stephen Price, CEO of E-Complish. “As soon as it came to light, we checked all of our security systems and devices and determined we weren’t affected. Our number one priority is payment security for our customers, and we go absurd lengths to ensure our customer’s information is safe.”
